Doing
my assignment inside the four corners of our small like ant house, and proving myself to the
members of my family. I could feel the very high pressure that my parents are
applied to my shoulders. It looked like that they wanted me to be like my sister,
Donnabel. One of the people owned the valedictorian title in our school.
“I
want you to be part of the honor roll, so you must study hard!” said my mother
Annette as she looked in the ceiling and dreamed of something. I only smiled,
looked in the other side of our house and said, “Huhhh? You said study
hard? Can I do it? I can’t see the hope like a blind person, mother. After I said
that, I noticed that my mother was staring at me, looks like she was
challenging me. I answered very fast like a running horse and shouted at the
top of my voice and said, yes mother, I will study hard! I covered my mouth and
stopped for a while. “How did those words came out from my big mouth? Oh, I
can’t imagine.”
At
the beginning, it wasn't easy for me like breaking a big stone to be part of
the honor roll. There ware time that I am already want to give up, but my
heart and soul still said “I can do it!” I made a systematic plan to achieve my
goal. I joined different fights against different schools to earn my stripes,
and get a high as tower extracurricular points.
At
the end, the honor roll was announced by our adviser. My knees shook up,
while waiting for the results. Keeping a big smile in my face and a million
thanks to God for that opportunity, I told myself to be calm, because I am the salutatorian. And that is the outcome of not giving up, and proving to my
parents that I can do it.
